Competition Update - Win $150 Even Easier
By Ryan on November 10, 2008 | 17 Comments
Welcome To Smarter Wealth, You can win $150 this month just by commenting on this blog. You can check out details by clicking here
I would like to thank everyone for leaving their helpful comments on my last post 7 Things You MUST NOT Forget To Do When Launching a Product. I have learnt so much from my failures and also from your comments.
I would especially like to thank Jonathan who gave an awesome comment on how to create an award winning (and best selling product. I will definately be taking his advice (maybe for this product, or maybe for future products)
Because I have learnt from my mistakes and learnt that my “Make Money Commenting” product is not so good I have removed it from the list of ways to enter the competition.
Also I have increased the value for sharing about the competition with others. You can now get 100 tickets just for talking about this competition on another blog and linking to it. Too easy.
Hope you all like the new updates and seeing as no one bought the product and wrote a review about them it should make everyone happy for me to change it.

Win $150 This Month Only on Smarter Wealth
By Ryan on November 10, 2008 | 70 Comments
This month you could win $150 in Cold Hard Cash.
That’s right with the start of a new month we are starting a new competition. The “Top Commentator Competition” has been going great and last month we got the most comments we have ever gotten in one month. So thanks to everyone who entered.
This month we are going Bigger and Better because Blogger Tests has sponsored us $150 in COLD HARD CASH to the winner. Blogger Tests is a great blog which provides some of the best quality tips on blogging I have read anywhere on the net. You should definately check them out because if you like what you read on Smarter Wealth you will LOVE what you will read on Blogger Tests.
There is more than one prize this time and everyone in the top commentator widget will win a prize of some sort (big or small), so get entering
1st Prize: $150 in Cold hard Cash
2nd Prize: One Site or Product Review on Smarter Wealth
3rd Prize: One 125×125 Ad Spot on Smarter Wealth
4th-8th Prize: Free Text Link In The Sidebar Of Smarter Wealth for one Month
There are a few ways to enter into this “Top Commentator Competition” and it is a little more detailed than last time because there are more ways to enter. I did this on order to focus a little bit more on marketing this competition so that it can become bigger than we have ever seen before
Critea To Win:
READ CAREFULLY: In order to be eligible to enter and win this competition you NEED to be in the “Top Commentator” widget at the end of November. If you are NOT in one of those 8 spots then you will not be entered into the competition. This means that only 8 people will be entered which means if you get active then you can have a greater chance of winning as there is less competition.
How To Enter:
There are three ways to enter into this competition:
Entry Method #1 - Worth 1 Ticket
Comment! Every comment you place on this blog will be worth 1 ticket into the final draw. If you are like Rahul Jadhav and Escoofield then you can quite easily get over 300 tickets just by leaving comments. How they did that many comments I do not know, but if you can comment like they did you can definately have a good chance of winning. So every comment you leave that is accepted (not spam) will equal 1 ticket
Brag About Smarter Wealth - Worth 100 Tickets
If you want to get more tickets in this competition all you have to do is write a full post on your blog about Smarter Wealth and you have to link to THIS POST. Don’t link to the home page, link to this competition page. Talk about the competition, talk about the blog, give an honest review. If you hate it then say so and you will still get your 100 points, if you like it then please say so and you will also get 100 points. Posts need to be at least 150 words long.
Note: In order to have these tickets credited to you, you must post a comment in THIS POST with a link to your post which you wrote about Smarter Wealth.
Note: These tickets do not count as comments for the “Top Commentator” widget. If you do not land in the top commentator widget at the end of November then your bragging will be in vain and these tickets will NOT count.
Hope you enjoy the competition and you get entering. $150 is a lot of money. Winner will be chosen by random.org

7 Things You MUST NOT Forget To Do When Launching a Product
By Ryan on November 7, 2008 | 20 Comments
Recently I launched my very first ebook “Make Money Commenting”. Due to the fact that I pride myself on being honest with you guys so we can all learn and grow together I can safely admit that this ebook was a flop. I think I sold two copies all up making a measly $12.
The best thing about the Make Money Online business is that you don’t have to have a product perfect before you release it. You can release a product and you can see how it goes and learn from your mistakes. Well I have made a few mistakes on this product and I plan to learn from them and I want to show you guys what NOT to do when you launch a product (whether it be your first product or your 50th product).
1. Don’t Forget To Edit Your Product
If you create an ebook then EDIT IT. I didn’t do this (and truthfully I still haven’t done this) and my ebook has it’s fair share of grammatical errors. If you release a product before it is ready then it can actually do you more harm then good. Your reputation as a writer and as an entrepreneur is one the line, and if you fail to deliver in grammatical quality then people will come to expect poor products from you.
Small grammatical errors on your blog are ok, after all the tone is conversational and the information is free. But when you start charging people for your information then it better be good otherwise your reputation (and your income) will go down the crapper.
2. Don’t Forget To Get People To Test/Review Your Product
Before you launch your product ALWAYS get someone to test it first. Get a friend or another blogger to give it a test drive and to show you where the flaws are. Then you can fix them up before you start charging people for it. This I did not do because I was in such a rush to release it (and to make some money) that I just figured it would be good enough…it wasn’t.
Also, if you want to sell your product you need to have some ‘testimonials’. Aka other people saying how awesome your product is. This will increase the trust people will have for your product, and if people trust they are getting a going to get a good product then they are 100 times more likely to buy.
3. Don’t Forget To Market Your Product Before the Launch
Because I was extremely busy with work outside this blog I did not feel I had the time to market my product before I launched it. This was a big mistake. Marketing your product before you actually launch it is important for a few reasons.
a. It creates a hype about your product (if you market it well) and allows people to get excited about it so when it comes out they buy it straight away
b. You can see your potential buyers reactions to the product. Is it too expensive? Too Cheap? What are they really after and what will they pay money for. This allows you to make last minute adjustments which will make you more money when it comes to finally selling your product4. Don’t Forget To Give People More Value Than They Pay For
You should always, always, always remember this. Give people more value than what they are paying for. This will both give them an incentive to buy and will also make them extremely happy when they receive your product and will increase your chances of ‘word of mouth’ marketing.
How you do this is pretty simple. Give people added value, but make it so it doesn’t cost you much more. You can give away free reports which can bump up your value quite a bit. You can make your report a little bit longer. You can put buyers in a competition to win something which adds potential value. You can create an mp3 and video version of your ebook and sell the customer all three giving them even more value.
With a little creativity you can make your $15 ebook worth over $100 to the customer. Then they will be extremely happy to buy. I didn’t do this with my ebook “Make Money Commenting” but I plan to with future product releases and possibly even with the ebook “Make Money Commenting” as I might edit it.
5. Don’t Forget To Have a Really Good Product
If you release (or review) a bad product then it can be a bad thing for you. Your reputation can go down the drain which will cause future sales to be much smaller. Make sure when you release a product that it is top quality, otherwise don’t release it.
6. Don’t Forget To Edit It And Make It Better
Once you have released a product and found its flaws due to the feedback you have received from people then edit it and remove the flaws. The great thing about the internet is you can easily edit and fix something up without having to print a whole bunch of new books. If you have spelling errors, or grammatical errors then get them fixed (I will be doing this as soon as I can….in fact I will be making some serious changes to my ebook to make it a lot better if I get the time to do it). This way you will get less complaints and more happy customers
7. Don’t Forget To Learn From Your Mistakes
I have learnt a lot through the process of launching my first product/ I didn’t do a very good job, but what I have learnt I can put into action next time I release a product. If you make mistakes one time around don’t worry too much about it. But learn from you mistakes and do a better job next time.
On the 1st of January I will be releasing hundreds of dollars worth of product for free (to evryone who wants it) and will be running a huge competition with great prizes so you can walk home with even more. I am adding a lot of value for a small cost ($0) and I am beginning the process of marketing it before the release. I will also have my products edited and make sure they are top quality before I release them. So look out for this. If you think This Month’s Competition is big (which it is) wait for the 1st January. It will be the biggest thing Smarter Wealth has ever done!!!

Where Have I Been?
By Ryan on November 5, 2008 | 17 Comments
Hey guys,
I am writing this from thailand as a quick update. I am on my honeymoon with my beautiful wife in thailand and unfortunately I got unlucky and I have been in hospital for the last 4 days. Getting on the internet is hard enough over here, but when you have a drip in your arm at hospital it is even harder.
I got an ear infection about 3 days into the trip. It got so bad that the left side of my face began to swell and my ear canal was so inflamed that it can completely blocked and they couldn’t get the antibiotic ear drops through to my ear. It has been a very bad last 7-10 days.
Sorry to those who want to know the results of the October competition. I did plan to announce them a few days ago but because of the circumstances I wont be posting the results until I get home. So probably about a week. Really sorry about this.
This month’s competition is sure to be awesome and I will answer all questions and emails as soon as I get back in the country. I didn’t realise how hard it would be to continue posting while I am away.
I have some great posts which in mind for this month and I am going to launch something pretty big on Smarter Wealth probably around the 1st of January. Best thing about it is that I will give you hundreds of dollars worth of stuff for FREE!!! and that is to EVERYONE! and then there will also be the chance for a select few to win A LOT of money. So look out for it.
You think this month’s competition is big. Wait for the 1st January….

Getting a Dream Board
By Ryan on October 30, 2008 | 19 Comments
Soon I am going to be getting my very own office when me and my new wife Kelly move into our own apartment. One of the things I am going to get for my office is a thing called a “Dream Board”.
What is a Dream Board?
A dream board is simply a board (I am going to get a cork board) that you place pictures on of things you are dreaming about. You keep it in a prominent place so you can look at it everyday.
The idea is to look at the things on your dream board and imagine them as if you already have them, while still being very grateful for what you already had. This form of in-visioning success is meant to attract these on your dream board into your life.
In fact I have heard a story about a guy who had a dream board and on there he had his dream home. He had it for a long time but eventually it got packed away for many years. One day when rummaging through his boxes full of his old stuff he found the dream board. To his surprise he was living in the EXACT same house which was on this board and he didn’t even know it.
There is power in a dream board.
Now you might ask, what is going to be going on my dreamboard?
Let me list a few things for you:
- My Dream House
- My dream house is a two story house over looking to water within a stones throw from a surf beach
- My Dream Kitchen
- I don’t know why but I have always wanted an awesome kitchen
- My Dream Car
- At the moment I have a fetish for VW Beetles, but I am sure I will find a slick, modern car to put on my dream wall
- An iPhone
- Ever since the iPhone 3G was released I have wanted one in vain (because I cannot afford one). This will be on my dream board.
What is going to be on your dream board? Write it in the comments section below - My Dream House

You Can Have a Killer Blog
By Ryan on October 29, 2008 | 17 Comments
Jason from The University Kid recently said this on his blog
yes, if you slaved on your site eight hours a day for a year, you’d probably have a mammoth site at the end of it… one you’d be throughly sick of working on though. The paycheck would be nice if you sold it off, I guess.
He was talking about working on your blog 8 hours a day like it would be a bad thing. But it got me really excited because he said if I was to work 8 hours per day on my blog in just a few months (6-12 months) I would have a mammoth blog.
Think about this. You go to work everyday and work 8 hours in a job you probably don’t really like that much. Personally I LOVE writing and blogging and I know that it is the job for me. If I was able to work 8 hours per day simply on this blog I could do a number of things to make this blog mammoth
1. Write More Content
The foundation of every blog is it’s content. The more good content you have, the more likely you will have a large amounts of readers. Look at John Chow. He has loads and loads of content (not all good content though) and he has a mammoth blog and it has only been going less than 3 years. If I was to work 8 hours per day on my blog I would definately spend at least 3 hours per day just simply writing content (and writing really good content). I would post 2-3 times per day until my readership increased and I was making a full time wage and i could afford to drop off posting.
2. Do More Marketing
If I worked 8 hours per day then I could spend at least 3 hours just marketing my blog. I could comment on all the blogs I currently comment on (plus more) and I could focus up more on marketing through forums and marketing through writing guest posts. Imagine the traffic you would bring in if you could sit down and just focus on marketing your blog 3 hours every day in a week. Your blog would probably double (or more) every month! Talk about getting a mammoth blog fast. If I doubled my RSS subscriptions every month I would have over 17,000 subscribers in just 6 months.
3. Start (And Finish) More Projects
I just released my very first ebook which took me too long to finish. If I had 8 hours per day to work on my blog I could start and finish more projects. I have a few more ebooks in mind that I want to create and I also have a few niche sites that are just waiting to be created so I can start making money. I simply do not have the time (or the money) to do it yet.
So even though at the moment I cannot afford to work full time on my blog. I believe that in a few months I will be able to and then when I am able to work on it full time (8 hours per day) you will see the traffic explode as my site just keeps getting better and better.
How many hours per day do you spend on your site?

Site Review: Internet Marking Access Dot Com
By Ryan on October 28, 2008 | 7 Comments
FYI This is a paid review and the review has not been influenced by the fact that I was paid to do it. If you want to get a paid review done for your site click here to buy one.
Internet Marketing Access is a blog about Internet Marketing. Upon first look it looks like a brand new rookie blog due to it’s wordpress theme and it’s logo. But do not be deterred by this because once you get into the site you will find that it contains a lot of great content.
It’s content is of high quality and is very empowering to the reader. The author really has a “Go Hard or Go Home” attitude which gets me really excited about doing this internet marketing thing to the best of my ability.
Truthfully the content is amazing, the way it is setout is amazing and it is really easy to skim read but the template really lets it down. There is heaps of empty space which looks really unproffessionaly and distracts you away from the content. I would suggest a new theme and a new logo which you can get for a very small price (new theme: free, new logo: $10)
If you want great content that is easy to read then you should definately check this site out. This guy knows his stuff his writing style is engaging and entertaining. With a little bit of tweaking and just making this site look prettier I believe that this site can become very popular within the next 6-12 months. So keep your eyes out for Internet Marketing Access.
Personally, I am going to subscribe to the RSS feed and I think you should do the same.

Proof That A Top Commentator Competition ACTUALLY Works
By Ryan on October 27, 2008 | 24 Comments
Well it is sunday and I am in Thailand living the high life with my new wife kelly. We are having a fantastic time and I will be sure to post up some images next week or the week after.
I just want to thank you guys for being so active in commenting on this site. This month we have had more comments than I ever could have imagined, and I owe this all to the top commentator competition which I am running.
FYI: Winners are chosen at random by random.org and every comment equals one ticket into the competition. Next month it will be even more detailed with new ways to win. But just so you know the winner is not the person who comments the most. I have done this to avoid spam.
Here is a shot of the amount of comments we have gotten over the last 3 months. You will see how it has spiked at the end.
So thanks everyone for commenting. Smarter Wealth is growing bigger and bigger everyday thanks to my readers (you) and also I need to give some credit to my Commenting Efforts and Great content

What To Do When You Need a Break/ Go On Holidays
By Ryan on October 27, 2008 | 9 Comments
Now, usually I am not a big fan of writing ‘blogging’ related posts too much on here because this is not a blog about blogging. If you want to read about blogging then go to Pro Blogger.
But I want to share with you a tip a lot of new people do not know and a tip that is so useful if you are a blogger. It is called timestamping and it gives you the ability to program a post to be published at a certain time.
I run the wordpress platform for this blog and it is so easy to timestamp your posts.
On the right hand side of your admin area when you are writing a new post you will see an area which says “Publish immediately”. This is located directly above the “Save” and “Publish” buttons. All you need to do is click the “Edit” button and then you can set the date and the time you want your post to be published.
Personally I am away on my honeymoon, but this post is automatically being published simply by using this technique. It is simple and really effective. You can queue up as many posts as you like.
That way your posts can be posted at the same time everyday so you readers will always know when to look at your blog for new content.
The best thing about this is that before you go away on holidays you can write up an extra post for every day that you are away and have it posted automatically. So your blog will continue to move forward while you are off having sex a good time on your honeymoon.
Hope you enjoyed the tip. If you already knew this, then oh well. If you didn’t then learn this and use it. It is one of the greatest tools wordpress ever invented.
